Sheridan Maine is advertising on behalf of a respected professional services organisation to recruit an FP&A Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled finance professional to join a dynamic FP&A team, delivering high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and insights to support strategic decision-making and business performance.

This hybrid role offers flexibility to work both remotely and in-office while providing exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic initiatives across the business.

Key responsibilities of the FP&A Analyst include: Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and reports.
  • Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends, providing actionable insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of rolling forecasts and long-range plans aligned to business strategy.
  • Evaluate business cases, capital projects, and strategic investments for financial viability.
Reporting & Business Support:
  • Produce financial dashboards and reports tailored to senior leadership and department heads.
  • Provide commentary and insights on business unit performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with department heads to understand performance drivers and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling as requested by senior management.
Revenue & Cost Analysis:
  • Monitor revenue performance across client segments and service lines.
  • Analyse cost structures and variances to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
  • Support pricing, profitability, and margin analysis initiatives.
  • Collaborate with billing, accounting, and operations teams to ensure revenue accuracy and timely recognition.
Process Improvement & Controls:
  • Support continuous improvement in FP&A processes, reporting tools, and data quality.
  • Assist in the implementation of financial systems enhancements and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory reporting processes as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as a finance business partner to assigned business units, providing insight and recommendations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Operations, and departmental teams to drive collaboration.
The successful FP&A Analyst will have:
  • Proven experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or management accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Adaptive Insights, or similar.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of professional services or the legal sector is advantageous but not essential.
