Job Description
Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a leading financial services organisation based in Canary Wharf to recruit a Junior Compensation Accountant. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to develop their skills within a global and fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will support the Compensation Accounting Manager across all aspects of payroll and compensation accounting for the EMEA region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of key financial information.
Your key responsibilities as the Junior Compensation Accountant:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll-related accounting entries, including salaries, bonuses, and other compensation items.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of compensation-related P&L and Balance Sheet accounts through monthly reviews and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to ensure correct accounting treatment and timely receipt of information.
- Work closely with the Senior Compensation Accountant to ensure all payroll accounting matters are completed efficiently.
- Support in preparing periodic reports and analysis to management.
- Monitor and report on related FX exposures and assist in variance analysis.
- Liaise with global counterparts in the US and Asia to ensure consistency and share best practices.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the Compensation Accounting Manager with ad-hoc tasks.
To be considered for the role of Junior Compensation Accountant, you will have/be:
- Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience, ideally within the UK financial services industry.
- Strong accounting fundamentals and understanding of P&L and balance sheet principles.
- Proficient in Excel with good analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.
