Sheridan Maine is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing team at a highly regarded accountancy firm in Hertfordshire. This role is ideal for a motivated audit professional seeking responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients.

You will take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion, supervise junior team members, and contribute to high-quality audit delivery across a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead audits from planning to completion for a variety of clients.
  • Supervise and support junior audit staff.
  • Prepare and review audit documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their businesses and address audit issues.
  • Deliver clear and concise audit findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts where required.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and stay up to date with audit standards.

What we’re looking for:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or finalist with strong audit experience.
  • In-depth understanding of UK auditing and accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency with audit software such as CaseWare or similar.
  • A team player with a proactive and client-focused approach.
