Private Client Tax Manager

Sheridan Maine is working with a growing accountancy firm in Devon to recruit a Private Client Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional who wants to join a firm that truly prioritises your growth and development. 

In this hands-on role, you’ll deliver tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of personal clients, including trusts and high-net-worth individuals. You will play a key role in providing exceptional client service, offering insightful advice, and supporting junior staff in their professional development. 

Your responsibilities as the Private Client Tax Manager will include:

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including trusts and HNW individuals.
• Provide advice on inheritance tax, residence and domicile, capital gains, and other personal tax matters.
• Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns and computations.
• Meet with clients to understand and advise on their tax planning needs.
• Review work of junior staff and support their development.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, HMRC, and other professional contacts.
• Identify opportunities to promote wider firm services, including financial planning. 

To be considered for the role of Private Client Tax Manager, you will have/be:

• ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a tax compliance and advisory role and drafting reports.
• Strong technical knowledge in personal tax, including trusts, HNW clients, and CGT.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
