The Role
As Payroll Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end processing of payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients spanning multiple industries. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistently high service levels, while acting as a key point of contact for client queries.
Your key responsibilities as the Payroll Manager:
- Manage and process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve payroll queries and provide expert guidance.
- Prepare payroll reports, journals, and year-end documentation (P60s, P11Ds, etc.).
- Oversee and review payroll work completed by junior team members (if applicable).
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely submission of RTI filings.
To be considered for this Payroll Manager position, you will have:
- Previous experience managing payroll in a practice or bureau environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and best practice.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- High level of accuracy and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with payroll software (such as Sage, BrightPay, or similar).
