Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells, Kent that is looking to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant to join its growing team.

The Role
Working closely with managers and senior members of the team, you will provide accounting support to a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.

Your responsibilities as a Semi-Senior Accountant will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with personal and corporation tax returns
• Maintaining accurate accounting records for clients
• Completing bookkeeping and reconciliations
• Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain relevant information
• Supporting senior team members with ad hoc accounting and advisory work
• Building strong, professional relationships with clients
  
  

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded finance professional with previous experience within an accountancy practice.

To succeed as the Semi-Senior Accountant, you will have:

• 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
• Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients
• Good knowledge of UK accounting and tax principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
• Good IT and accounting software skills
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or actively working towards a professional qualification
