Recruitment at Sheridan Maine has been both challenging and rewarding for me. It’s about far more than simply matching candidates to open roles. I spend my time proactively seeking out clients, understanding their needs, and building long-term relationships. While identifying suitable candidates is a key part of my role, I also focus on maintaining strong connections with both clients and candidates throughout the recruitment process. This level of responsibility means I have to be an excellent communicator, balancing the client’s business goals with the candidate’s career aspirations to create successful job matches.
What makes recruitment different from traditional sales roles is that I’m dealing with people, not products. In typical sales, you are only accountable to the buyer, but in recruitment, both the candidate and the client are active participants, each able to change their mind at any moment. This creates a unique challenge where I must balance the interests of both parties while managing expectations. My success depends on how well I can adapt to evolving needs, whether that’s supporting a candidate’s career growth or helping a client expand their business.
Despite the pressures and uncertainties, I’ve found the career path at Sheridan Maine incredibly supportive and enjoyable. I’m constantly motivated by internal competitions, team-building events, and regular recognition for achievements. The monetary rewards reflect the effort I put in, which makes the role even more fulfilling.
Although the job requires determination and resilience, the fast-paced nature of recruitment ensures that no two days are the same. I’m continually presented with new opportunities and challenges, which keeps the work engaging and worthwhile.
