Payroll Administrator - Hybrid

Sheridan Maine is collaborating with an esteemed and dynamic payroll department located in the heart of Poole to hire an experienced Payroll Assistant.  This role provides a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

In this position, you should demonstrate a track record of efficiently managing payrolls of different sizes and possess practical knowledge along with a comprehensive understanding of statutory obligations. We seek a self-driven individual with outstanding communication and time management capabilities.

Key responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant will include: 

• Dealing with a portfolio of client payrolls
• Running weekly, monthly and quarterly payrolls for clients
• Dealing with client queries
• Liaising with HRMC around employee payments
• Inputting and checking starters / leavers
• P45s, P69s, holiday pay, salaries, worked hours, overtime, expenses, mileage, bonus payments, statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
• Auto enrolment reconciliations and assessments
• Producing PAYE schedules for clients, calculating any deductions including student loans, employer’s allowance and CIS tax suffered
• Setting up new PAYE schemes with HMRC
• Liaising with the Pension providers
• Carrying out RTI year-end procedures, including issuing declarations for client signature and P60s

• Previous experience working in a busy payroll position
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organised and methodical
• The ability to meet key deadlines
