Sheridan Maine has joined forces with our client in Birmingham to recruit a permanent Accounts Payable Manager. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department, actively contribute to financial objectives, and ensure the meticulous and efficient management of invoices and treasury responsibilities.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager will include:
Maintain accurate cash books, reconciling bank accounts monthly and ensuring signatures
Process timely BACS, International, and manual payments aligned with terms
Forecast weekly cash needs, fulfilling working capital and EI cash requests
Promptly handle invoices with precise coding and descriptions
Process monthly employee expense claims by specific deadlines
Resolve blocked invoices within 7 days in collaboration with process owners
Reconcile down-payments and GRNI monthly, addressing aged items
Prepare monthly aged creditors report per timetable
Establish new supplier records, ensuring proper checks
Compile and submit quarterly VAT returns on time
Prepare and submit required ONS returns
Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed
The successful Accounts Payable Manager will require the following skills and experience:
A-Level education
AP knowledge is a plus
Prior exposure to a dynamic and high-paced work setting
Confident in using own initiative
Organised
The role initially requires to be in the office 5 days a week, but potential for hybrid working is available once settled.
