We have an exciting opening for a Finance Assistant to join our client's Romsey team on a part-time, temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent position. This opportunity has arisen as a result of the organisation's organic expansion.
The chosen candidate will play a key role in supporting various finance functions and ensuring the efficient operation of the accounts department.
Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant include but not limited to:
Posting and verifying invoices for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Compiling and submitting expense claims on behalf of the Financial Controller
Managing petty cash transactions
Overseeing credit control responsibilities
Creating new records for customers, suppliers, and projects in Xero
Addressing and promptly responding to inquiries from customers and suppliers
Handling the processing of subcontractor invoices and payments
Performing any other essential duties as required
The successful Finance Assistant will require the following skills and experience:
AAT L2 or equivalent qualifications are desirable
Proficient in Xero and Excel with a strong track record
Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus
Effective prioritisation and time management abilities
Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Exceptional organisational skills coupled with keen attention to detail
Ideally possesses 2 years of accounting experience

This position requires 21 hours a week: Monday – Wednesday – Friday.
