We are excited to share that Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a well-known hospitality firm to acquire an Accountant for their team, on a part-time basis. This position entails working three days a week, with one of those days being remote.
Responsibilities of the Accountant include:
Ad hoc payments made through the group's online banking systems
Handling reports and requests
Ensuring the accuracy of balance sheets
Keeping internal procedures up to date
Reconciling bank statements in multiple currencies
Providing a monthly report on the group's bank balances
Preparing monthly management accounts for the group's commercial properties
Compiling reports for the Office of National Statistics
Publishing monthly foreign exchange rates
Managing a limited accounts payable workload of approximately 10 invoices per month
Assisting in the creation of the annual statutory accounts
The successful Accountant will require the following knowledge and experience:
Proficient in basic accounting (including bank reconciliations, double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and prepayments)
Comfortable in a small, flexible, and friendly team
Positive and open to learning new tasks
Ideally, some accounting education (early AA+ level)
Respectful of diverse perspectives and cultures
Approachable and cooperative
Basic Excel and Word skills
