We are excited to share that Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a well-known hospitality firm to acquire an Accountant for their team, on a part-time basis. This position entails working three days a week, with one of those days being remote.
 
Responsibilities of the Accountant include:

  • Ad hoc payments made through the group's online banking systems
  • Handling reports and requests
  • Ensuring the accuracy of balance sheets
  • Keeping internal procedures up to date
  • Reconciling bank statements in multiple currencies
  • Providing a monthly report on the group's bank balances
  • Preparing monthly management accounts for the group's commercial properties
  • Compiling reports for the Office of National Statistics
  • Publishing monthly foreign exchange rates
  • Managing a limited accounts payable workload of approximately 10 invoices per month
  • Assisting in the creation of the annual statutory accounts

The successful Accountant will require the following knowledge and experience:

  • Proficient in basic accounting (including bank reconciliations, double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and prepayments)
  • Comfortable in a small, flexible, and friendly team
  • Positive and open to learning new tasks
  • Ideally, some accounting education (early AA+ level)
  • Respectful of diverse perspectives and cultures
  • Approachable and cooperative
  • Basic Excel and Word skills
