Sheridan Maine are supporting our client based in Southampton with the recruitment of a newly created role of Finance Business Partner. 

Reporting into the Head of Finance and part of a vibrant team, the new Finance Business Partner will be responsible for the continuous improvement of financial control processes and tasked with helping build and develop financial capability and professionalism, both inside the finance function and across the organisation. As Finance Business Partner you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the business have the highest quality financial governance in place, whilst accommodating the working needs of the organisation. 

The individual will contribute to the effective implementation of financial governance and rules, working closely with the stakeholders across the organisation to ensure they understand and comply with all financial controls.  They will be the key point of contact for financial compliance on all projects and will work closely with Legal & Governance to ensure they are engaged early during the establishment of the projects to undertake key financial checks including taxation and regulation.

Key attributes:

  • We are looking for a Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) Accountant who is highly motivated with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to make positive change to the ways of working
  • Knowledge of best practice financial controls and process gained either through practice or in industry
  • The successful candidate will be able to work at all levels, building excellent relationships with key stakeholders and have the ability to translate complex financial terms to non-fiance staff
  • Experience of Charity regulation and accounting, including taxation, would be advantageous.
