Sheridan Maine is collaborating with our client, based in Southampton, to recruit a Credit Controller on a permanent basis. This presents an excellent chance for career advancement within a company that likes to grow internally. The position will involve working across 3 brands for the group.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience with speaking French, Italian, German or Spanish.
Your responsibilities as the Credit Controller will include:
Manage portfolios for all 3 brands, adhering to collection procedures
Process Commission payments and Refunds with necessary approvals
Address account queries, collaborating internally to resolve issues
Issue statements and chase missing payments from travel agents
Attend weekly meetings to discuss overdue accounts and escalate when required
Coordinate with Sales managers on urgent outstanding balances
Propose process improvements in Credit Control
Conduct credit checks and monitor rating changes
Enforce company escalation procedures for overdue payments
Allocate daily receipts and maintain banking transaction records
Proactively identify and address issues to prevent late payments
Monitor designated mailboxes for all 3 brands daily within agreed timeframes
The successful Credit Controller will require the following skills and experience:
Knowledge of German/Spanish language is advantageous but not obligatory
Credit control background
Clear and persistent telephone communication style
Proficiency in managing workload independently and taking ownership
Skill in establishing and nurturing relationships
Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level)
Demonstrates honesty and consistency
High motivation and strong organisational abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
Proficient investigative skills
