Sheridan Maine is delighted to partner with our Wiltshire based client in search of a Property Accountant (Part-Qualified) to support a dedicated business area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and contribute to the success of a prestigious and forward-thinking company.
 
The successful candidate will support the Property Financial Controller, with the primary responsibility of ensuring the highest standards of accounting and financial support for the business. This role offers the chance to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment where your expertise will be highly valued.
 
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assist the Property Financial Controller with property portfolio accounting
  • Foster positive working relationships across the group, especially with the Finance Team, to ensure consistent reporting
  • Complete month-end accounting, reporting, and forecasting, including analysis against budget and forecast
  • Ensure financial integrity through preparation and review of control account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate records of portfolio leases in collaboration with the Property Team
  • Coordinate with the external Property Management company on financial information for the property portfolio
  • Integrate new property acquisitions into portfolio accounting
  • Monitor project costs and track recoverable works costs
  • Prepare monthly cash forecasts for property activities
  • Support year-end reporting, including preparation of statutory accounts, audit documentation, and assistance with external audits
  • Provide documentation for year-end tax computations and liaise with the property team and contractors
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and five-year plans for property activities
  • Support financial aspects of the property acquisition process
 
To be considered for the role of Property Accountant, you will be:
  • A Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or QBE
  • Property accounting and transactions experience desirable but not necessary
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Diligent, thorough, and excellent attention to detail with high levels of integrity and confidentiality
