Sheridan Maine is proud to partner with a leading manufacturing organisation based in Redditch. Our client is renowned for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and quality. They are now seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
 
Role Overview:
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position not only covers the traditional duties of an assistant accountant but also requires active involvement in credit control and purchase ledger management.
 
Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank statements and financial transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assisting with credit control and ensuring timely collection of payments.
  • Managing the sales ledger and ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assisting with purchase ledger as needed.
  • Liaising with internal departments and external customers to resolve queries.
 
The successful Assistant Accountant will require:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Currently studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of credit control and purchase ledger.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
