Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting a newly created role of Head of Reporting and FP&A for the UK's leading arts and crafts retailer Hobbycraft!
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a pivotal leadership role and make a significant impact as part of the Hobbycraft Finance Team.
 
About the Role
As the Head of Reporting and FP&A, you will report to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with the CFO and Head of Commercial Finance. Your role will be to lead a team of three management accountants and oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic analysis.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of three management accountants, ensuring accurate and timely outputs.
  • Manage the financial reporting, period-end close process and deliver insightful management accounts and MI packs for Board review.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the annual budget and mid-year re-forecast, working with stakeholders across the business.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making, such as profitability assessments, cost evaluations, and business case preparation.
  • Stakeholder engagement, partnering with senior business leaders to manage expenditure and ensure alignment with financial goals.
 
About You
We are seeking a finance professional with a proven track record of success in financial reporting and team leadership. You will bring:
  • Full accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex financial models.
  • Strong background in period-end processes, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Commercial mindset, analytical and solutions-focused, with a proactive approach to delivering insights.
 
Desirable: Experience in consumer-facing or multi-site industries is advantageous.
