Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a Hampshire based client that operates in an interesting and niche sector. They are currently recruiting for a technically strong qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant to join their team as Finance Controller.
The successful candidate will have previously led and developed a finance team within a larger organisation with experience and knowledge of process improvement and leading change.
Your responsibilities will include providing leadership and guidance to a reporting team undertaking the following tasks:
Take responsibility for financial control, accounting and reporting
Preparation of financial and management reports
Managing preparation of all statutory compliance documentation and VAT returns
Creation of daily, weekly and monthly reports
Ensure all deadlines are met and completed
Understanding business needs and ensuring that processes are aligned and compliant
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Coordination of financial statements
Project related activities around process enhancement and change
Build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
What you will need to be considered for this role:
Qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA
Strong technical accounting expertise
Experience of leading and developing teams within a larger organisation
Proven background working on process improvement projects coupled with implementing change
Experience of working with a range of stakeholders
Strong communication skills
